Efficient production monitoring
Dall'Era Valerio works with a high quality standard by applying precise production methods. The technical department designs nuts and many types of brass bodies according to customer drawings, guaranteeing the desired technical specifications. Compliance with a strict internal quality protocol includes verification through our metrology laboratory. This allows products to be kept monitored while ensuring the highest quality. Verification data is documented according to the standards required by both international regulations and customers.
Checking brass nuts and fittings to monitor production
The inspection of our brass nuts and fittings is essential to keep production monitored. Spot-checking makes it possible to maintain high quality and prevent defects in parts, even the most difficult to detect with the usual tools, from lowering the overall efficiency of the machinery or plant in which they are to be inserted. For this reason, the metrology lab at Dall'Era has become a key step in the production process of the customer's custom-made part. Our goal is a rejection rate approaching zero: we already manage to achieve a rejection rate close to zero of parts considered unsuitable: that is, we have managed to lower defective parts to a few units per million nuts and fittings produced.
State-of-the-art metrology laboratory
Thus, the accuracy of manufactured parts is reflected in the actual phase of use within complex plants and structures, often consisting of dozens or hundreds of other components. The stress experienced by the elements of a plant or machinery represent a focal node, because the defect in the component can cause overall inefficiency over time. For these reasons, our products must ensure high operational functionality and defect-free production. Based on this goal, we have recently introduced advanced machinery in our in-house metrology laboratory, called ZEISS O-INSPECT, which is among the best in the world
Ultra-high-tech optical solution
As a result, our metrology laboratory has been equipped with a ZEISS O-INSPECT multisensor machine, which allows a perfect view of all the characteristics of our brass nuts and fittings. The quality control chain is thus strengthened with a three-dimensional measuring instrument combined with optics to have very high image definition, in accordance with ISO-10360 directives. The laser pointer in the center of the lens simplifies part mapping. Thus, a machine that enables optimal measurement of each feature optically or by contact. A result is achieved in terms of accuracy and also reduced measurement time. The part is monitored even in the most peripheral areas and at multiple points.
